If Document map is checked (enabled) in the View tab, this will display an outline of the active document, like a filmstrip, on the right side of each file. A "viewport," or frame, within the document map indicates the portion of the active file currently visible in the edit window. You can click at a different position in the document map to reposition the viewport, or you can click in the viewport and drag it to another location.

The context menu in the document map includes the following options:

  • Zoom in (show less) shows less of file in Document Map at once
  • Zoom out (show more) shows more of file in Document Map at once
  • Show » Active line toggles visibility of the active line in the Document Map
  • Show » Bookmarks toggles visibility of bookmarks in the Document Map when they exist in the active file
  • Show » Code folding toggles visibility of folding nodes in the Document Map when they exist in the active file
  • Reposition caret on click set caret at beginning of line in edit window when clicking in Document Map
  • Close document map will close the document map window

Because the document map uses split window, it will be hidden when split window is enabled.
