Split window is a feature that is similar to duplicate window, but unlike duplicate window, split window provides two views of the same file within a single file tab. You can create a split window one of two ways:

  1. Via the Split horizontally and Split vertically commands in the "Active window" group of the Window tab
  2. By dragging or double-clicking the horizontal splitter directly above the top scroll bar button (as shown in screenshot).

To close a split window, simply double-click it the splitter.

Any changes you make in one split window will be reflected in the other split as well. Each split window has its own independent editing, code folding, and bookmarks; however, everything else is shared.
