Join lines will join two or more contiguous lines. It functions differently depending on whether or not text is selected. With one or less lines selected (no line ends in selection) join lines will join the active line to the one immediately following it. With two or more lines selected (one or more line ends in selection) join lines will join all selected lines and the active line.
All trailing spaces from a line being joined with a line below it will be removed. All leading spaces from a line being joined with a line above it will be removed. A single space will be inserted between 2 joined lines.
Example (·
represents space, »
represents tab):
» ·····line·1
» ·······line·2····
After join lines:
» ·····line·1·line 2····
The caret will be positioned at the end of the joined lines after lines are combined. You may want to define a key mapping for this command in the Key mapping section of Settings.
