Settings:Application layout:Status bar

The Miscellaneous » Status bar branch of Settings has the following options.

Use basic status bar

If selected, the status bar will provide a display of information related to the active file without any interactive controls. If this options is not selected, the status bar will include an encoding type and highlighting type control as well as interactive toggles for read-only / write status, insert / overstrike status, and column mode status.
