Read only

The Read only command toggles the state of the read-only status of the active file. If the read only status is set, you will not be able to modify the file in any way. If the file has already been modified the modifications are maintained and the file may be saved.

You can configure the default behavior of the read only status in Settings » File handling » Miscellaneous. This determines if the file is read only when it is opened.
