The FTP branch in Settings has the following options:

Store FTP accounts and settings in user selected file

Use this option to specify a file which to be used to store FTP account options. You can define this directly in the provided input field or browse to select a file that already exists. If the file doesn't exist, UltraEdit will create it. If this option is not selected, FTP account information will be stored in the FTPData.ini file under %APPDATA%\IDMComp\UltraEdit.

Display FTP accounts in Explorer view

If selected, FTP accounts will be shown in the File view under the Explorer tab. The account itself will be listed as a top level directory. Expanding the account in the File view will cause UltraEdit to connect to the server and display its contents.

Show FTP log in output window

If selected, an FTP log showing all commands and data sent to and received from the FTP server will be displayed in the output window. This can provide helpful diagnostic information.

Share FTP Accounts

If selected, FTP account information is written to a new file IdmFTPAccounts.txt created under %APPDATA%\IDMComp\Common\FTP Accounts. This allows UltraEdit, UEStudio, UltraCompare, and other IDM applications to access and share FTP account information maintained in a common file rather than storing this information separately for each application. When this option is set, the option Store FTP accounts and settings in user selected file will automatically become subdued.

Context menu open of relative FTP paths in text uses Initial Directory as root

If selected, if an Initial Directory is defined for an account under the General tab in the FTP Account Manager, then when you right-click a partial / relative path in a file opened via FTP, UltraEdit will use the path defined for the Initial Directory as the root or base path for opening the relative path referenced in the active file.
