Reformat paragraph setup

The Reformat paragraph setup dialog allows you to configure how the Reformat paragraph command should work. This dialog includes the following options.

Hanging indent
This applies for left-justified alignment only. If set, the alignment will allow a second margin to be set that is used for the second and successive lines of a paragraph. This causes the first line of a paragraph to be indented with one setting and the rest of the paragraph to have a different setting. If this is set, the Hanging indent (# columns) value can be entered in the dialog.

Reformat
Clicking this button reformats the active paragraph or selected text. A "paragraph" of text is determined as being delimited by two hard returns in succession (i.e. a blank line).

Margins

• Use paragaraph left margin - if set, UltraEdit will use the existing left margin (indentation) of the paragraph that is being reformatted rather than specifying a new margin value.
• Specify margin (# columns) - if set, UltraEdit will use the left margin value entered in the associated text field as the indention for the left margin when reformatting the paragraph.

Hanging indent (# columns)
The value you specify here controls the indentation of the first line of the paragraph or text to be reformatted. This option is only available if the Hanging indent option is checked.

Right margin (after # columns)
This value sets the right margin to be used when reformatting the paragraph. This is the last column number (starting with 1) at which text may occur.

Alignment
These settings control the alignment of text when reformatting the paragraph.

• Left align - Text will be left aligned against the left margin and will not extend past the right margin.
• Center align - Text will be centered between the left and right margins.
• Right align - Text will be right aligned against the right margin and will not extend past the left margin.
• Fill - Text will be aligned between the right and left margins with spaces added between words to ensure alignment to both margins. The last line of the paragraph will be aligned only to the left margin.
