<h2 class="setting">Change file attribute when toggling read-only for active file</h2>
This setting forces the editor to change the read-only status of the file ond disk when the [[Read only]] command is toggled. The default setting (unchecked) allows you to force the editor to treat the file as read-only, thus preventing unwanted modification of the file, without changing the actual file status on disk.

<h2 class="setting">Lock file for write while editing</h2>
This setting forces the editor to set a lock on any file that is opened. Additionally, if the file is already locked, it will open the file as read-only with a prompt to confirm on open. This setting prevents modification of a file from outside of the editor, which can prevent a loss of unsaved changes within the editor.

<h2 class="setting">Close all files when opening or switching projects</h2>
If this option is set, all open files will be closed without a warning prompt when you open, close, or switch to a different project. If not selected, you'll be prompted as to whether or not the open files should be closed.

<h2 class="setting">Create new file if file specified on command line does not exist</h2>
This setting forces the editor to create a new file if the file specified to be opened on the command line doesn't exist. The default setting is to create the new file.

<h2 class="setting">Create new Edit file when opening with no other files</h2>
This setting instructs the editor to create a new empty file ("Edit1") file on startup if no other files are reloaded.
